Dinner at Washington Monument
On Thursday, May 13th, I decided to pack a picnic dinner and pick up PC from work and we would go eat it at the Washington Monument. I stashed everything in our trusty pack including K1 and we hiked from our parking spot to our goal. K1 is so cute sitting in his little seat. He either grabs onto the front of the pack or the packer's hair. The day we chose to go eat was also a day where everyone seemed to be playing softball on the national mall. It was incredible. Every bit of green space was in use, whether it was hilly or not. We staked out a spot to sit, unpack our chili and began to eat. Now, for those of you who haven't been to the monument before, it is set on a hill. Also, the trees leading up to the monument act as a funnel, of sorts, and therefore it is really REALLY windy up there. After 5 minutes of eating and K1 whining (understandably), we repacked up, and headed to lower grounds, sheltered by trees. All in all, we enjoyed the change of venue for dinner and aim to do it again :)
Holding Flat Stanley. You can also see a bunch of people playing softball in the background.
