Botanical Gardens

Last Thursday, the three musketeers and our baby counterparts took the metro into DC and went to the National Botanical Gardens. It was cool how they had different rooms for different climates (obviously, otherwise the plants couldn't all grow there...). They had cool little information stands about how things are grown, how they affect us, etc. They had several models of the buildings around DC, but they were all made of plants (leaves, sticks, bark, etc). So cool! They even recreated statues and stuff.
They had a "gallery" room where you could see and smell some of the uses of plants. I should have taken a picture, but they had they flowers made out of metal, but in the center of the flower, they put a seasoning, or spice. That way you could smell it. I'm terrible at explaining things...You should just go see it! Anyway, we had fun. The ride home was quite interesting. We were right in the middle of the commute at the end of the day. Everyone was in business suits and reading their newspapers. We, on the other hand, were wearing bright colors and jeans and talking to people around us and, heaven forbid, smiling. Thankfully, people were kind and let us get off with our tank-like strollers. Until next time...
